Exercising is important to many people. Exercising keeps you fit and healthy no matter your circumstances. Anyone can exercise, no matter your age, weight, gender or any other factor. You will definitely feel significantly better and have significantly lower stress levels when you begin engaging in some form of exercise daily.
If you have never exercised before, it is important to start simple. Starting with the basics can help you to build up your strength so that you can eventually move on to more complex exercises. With that in mind, below are five exercise which are easily done for anyone.
Almost anyone can do a basic lunge. Lunges help with balance and with building muscle strength in your legs. There are also many variants of this basic exercise that you can build up to, including side lunges and completing your lunges with dumbbells or weights in your hands to make you build more muscle.
It is important to understand how to do the most basic lunge, however. You will begin standing straight with your feet shoulder-width. You will step forward with your dominant leg, bending at the knee. You will stop when your thigh is straight. You will push off with the same leg, and perform the action again with your other leg. You can do this for ten reps and however many sets you need.
Almost everyone has heard of a pushup. These exercises build muscles across your entire body due to everything that is needed in order to complete the exercise. This exercise also has many variants you can build up to including a one-handed pushup or a triangle pushup.
To do a basic pushup, you will start in the plank position. Your elbows will be bent to lower your entire body, then you push back up utilizing the elbows again. If you are not strong enough for your legs to be off of the floor, rest your knees on the floor and work your way up. Complete as many reps as you can of this exercise.
Squats are another everyday exercise that anyone can do that also have many variants such as the sumo squat. Squats work muscles in the lower extremities, lower back and core to improve strength and flexibility. They also definitely give more of a workout than many other exercises as they burn significant calories.
You will begin the most basic squat in a simple standing position. You will keep your core straight and chest tight when bending your knees down. Your knees should stay as straight as possible when bending, until your thighs are straight. You should hold the position for one second, then return to a standing position, repeating for twenty reps.
Burpees are one of the more difficult exercises on this list. Anyone is still able to do this exercise though, with a bit of willpower. This exercise will increase muscle strength throughout your entire body as it utilizes many muscular systems throughout your body.
This exercise begins with you standing straight. You will begin a squat and touch your hands to the ground. When your hands touch the ground, you will push back into a plank and do a pushup. From there you will come back to the squat position with your hands on the ground and jump up back to standing. You will repeat for ten reps.
Most people probably remember doing sit-ups in gym class with a partner where you hold one another’s feet. Sit-ups are a great way to work out your core, however. This basic exercise can literally be done by anyone, and no, you do not need a partner to do a sit-up.
You will start by lying on your back with your knees bent up and arms behind your head. Your feet will remain on the ground, and you will lift your core up to your legs. When you have reached your legs, lower yourself back down. You will repeat this exercise for fifteen reps in as many sets as you would like.
Exercise is a great way to keep yourself healthy and lower your stress levels. There are many exercises available that anyone can do. Those listed above are great for individuals who are just beginning to perform daily exercises in order to become the best versions of themselves.
